Marynia’s house of awkward pleasure - video
Created, Filmed, and Performed by Marynia Fekecz-Mangan (2020)
It is a short film: "Marynia's House of awkward pleasure " is a solo creation by Marynia Fekecz-Mangan. This performance is from the perspective of an immigrant telling a story about her life far away from her homeland. She opens space to feel, react and be part of the journey with her, connecting with the dancer and the emotions she is going through on the stage. Throughout the performance, the dancer uses movement to provoke emotions such as humour, awkwardness and fun. “
This work was created early on in 2018 for the Expense Festival as a part of the Chinook series in Edmonton. Invited by Good Women Dance Collective. Modified as a film for Dancers’ Studio West’s Creative Intensive and Quick+Dirty programs, premiered on July 24th, 2020 on DSW’s Quick+Dirty Festival
